Fine Arts Addition Tour
On January 6, 2021, students were welcomed back to campus and gifted with the opening of the new fine arts addition.
Thanks to the support of hundreds of individuals and corporations, SCLA students have been blessed with a new, more secure entry, well-lit commons area, new practice rooms, and new music classrooms.

The fine arts classrooms and new entryway feature 87 windows to the exterior. Like the chapel, the new spaces bring abundant light into the building for the students..

The new commons area provides a place for students to gather while enjoying a view of the outdoors.
The hallway leading to the music classrooms features photos of past choral and band concerts as well as a custom trophy case to house music awards.
During the pandemic, choir students are well spaced in the classroom. The choir room has a capacity for over 100 students.
Both the choir and band rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology for teacher instruction. An exceptional feature is the recording and playback option for instant reflection.
Thanks to a generous donor, the choir room is equipped with a Yamaha C7X Grand Piano. The piano measures 7’6’’ and weighs 913 lbs. It is largest grand piano you can buy before getting into the “concert grand” classification, and according to Yamaha, it is the most recorded piano model in the world. This instrument will be used in rehearsal and concerts for the choirs and will be used as a practice and performance instrument for advanced piano students.

Practice rooms 1 and 2 are designed for small ensembles.

The band room is equipped with two storage areas for instruments of all shapes and sizes.

The spacious band room features seating for over 70 students, secure instrument storage, and playback technology. During the pandemic, wood and vinyl dividers are used to inhibit the spread of the germs.
