SCL Student Named National Merit Finalist

St. Croix Lutheran Grade 6-12's Isaac Krieger, son of Corey and Madeleine Krieger, Apple Valley, MN, has been named a National Merit Scholarship Program finalist.
After being named one of 16,000 semifinalists, Isaac submitted a detailed scholarship application, including essays and information about his extracurricular achievements, awards and leadership positions. As a semifinalist, Isaac has demonstrated an outstanding academic record.
Issac has been endorsed by and recommended by St. Croix Lutheran Grades 6-12 and earned SAT scores that confirm his qualifying test performance. From the finalist candidates, winners will be selected who have the strongest combination of academic skills and achievements, extracurricular accomplishments and potential for success in rigorous university studies. Scholarship winners represent less than 1 percent of the initial pool of student entrants.
In addition to his academic accomplishments, Isaac is also president of the NHS, Vice President of the student council, and a homeroom leader (executive committee). He is a member of the Oakdale Avenue Jazz Band and Croixaliers honor’s choir. In addition, Isaac has played on both the varsity soccer and track team for the Crusaders.
National Merit Scholarship winners of 2015 will be announced in four nationwide news releases beginning in April and concluding in July. These scholarship recipients will join more than 308,000 other distinguished young people who have earned theMerit Scholar title.
