April 28, 2015, West St. Paul, Minnesota - St. Croix Lutheran Grades 6-12 has extended an offer to Mr. Todd Russ age 45, current academic dean of St. Croix Lutheran, to serve as its fifth president replacing Dr. Gene Pfeifer who accepted the position of president of Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota in March.

Russ has been an educator for 24 years and has served at St. Croix Lutheran since 2007 when he was charged with the task of conducting a middle school feasibility study. He holds a Master of Educational Leadership Degree (Concordia University, 2009) and Educational Specialist Degree in Curriculum Instruction and Professional Development (Walden University, 2014).

“Given the strong position and direction of the current course St. Croix Lutheran is on, and Todd’s role in this as the Dean of Academics, the Board of Regents felt that Todd was the person best suited to continue on this path and develop new ideas to take St. Croix Lutheran into the future,” stated Board of Regents Chairman, Karl Hochmuth.

The President is responsible for the general overall management of the school. He serves as the official school representative to the SCLHS association, General Board, Board of Regents, and the community.
