Financial Aid and Scholarships

The image contrasts two arrows, one gray and one red, labeled %22Deadline%22 and %22Award%22 respectively. Below, it provides details about scholarship application deadlines and award notification dates.

Need-Based Assistance and Scholarships

The Clarity financial aid application and individual scholarship applications open in January when tuition rates are published. Clarity collects a family's financial information – income, assets, expenses, tax documentation – and provides a baseline assessment of a family's demonstrated need for the SCLA Financial Aid Committee to consider.

Families of full-time American students* may apply for general financial assistance by completing the Clarity application form. *Students enrolled in the PSEO program and international students are not eligible to apply for tuition assistance or the listed scholarships.

Scholarships

The Clarity application must be complete before applying for individual scholarships. Except for the TRIA Scholarship and the Association Discount, all financial aid is need-based and requires the completion of the Clarity application. Individual scholarship applications are due February 15.

Your total financial assistance package may increase if your student qualifies for a scholarship, as additional donor funds are designated for these scholarships.

Step 1. Complete the Clarity Financial Aid Eligibility Application

Except for the TRIA Scholarship and the SCLA Association Discount, all financial aid is need-based. There is no due date for general assistance, but if applying for individual scholarships, complete the Clarity application first, and individual scholarship applications by February 15. Allow 24-48 hours for confirmation from Clarity.

Step 2. Receive Confirmation from Clarity

Clarity will send you an email confirming receipt of your application. Once you have received the confirmation email and submitted all required application materials to Clarity, you may continue with step 3.

Step 3. Complete Individual Scholarship Applications

An online scholarship application must be completed for each discount or scholarship for which you are applying. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Association Discount (Grades 9-12)

Association Discount

Families who are members of an SCLA Association congregation are eligible for a discount by completing the online Association Discount form (click on the link below and select "Association Discount" from the drop-down menu.)

Once this online form is completed, we will forward your response to your pastor for verification. You do not need to submit a hard copy of the application.

Individual Scholarships

Scholarship Applications (open Jan 1; due Feb 15)
Scholarship Descriptions

Individual need-based (as determined by Clarity) scholarships are available to full-time American students*, each with unique criteria—some requiring essays. Students may apply for any or all scholarships for which they are eligible. *Students enrolled in the PSEO program and international students are not eligible to apply for these scholarships.

Your total financial assistance package may increase if your student qualifies for a scholarship, as additional donor funds are designated for these scholarships.

Step 4. Receive Aid Notification

If the financial assistance application is submitted by February 15, notification of any financial award will be made by April 1. Applications may be resubmitted with change-in-life circumstances.
