University Preparation

SCLA students are given the tools they need to thrive in a university environment and succeed in their future chosen careers. To prepare students to excel in an increasingly competitive global economy, strong study habits and productive time-management skills are taught at every grade level. SCL’s university-preparatory curriculum includes accelerated and advanced placement courses, 13 college credit offerings, and a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) program in cooperation with the University of Minnesota,

SCL graduates are well prepared for their post-secondary education. They consistently score above the Minnesota state and national averages on the ACT and SAT college placement exams, and ninety-eight percent pursue college or university degrees. Many SCL graduates matriculate to the United States’ premier universities including Johns Hopkins University, Notre Dame, Boston College and Carnegie Mellon University. We are proud of these successes. Our first international graduate is now a heart surgeon from Guangzhou, China.
