Summary
Thank you for taking the time to explore our Twin Cities campus online – we are happy to answer your questions and pleased to show you an excellent, affordable option for private-school, Christian education.
SCLA is a middle school and high school located conveniently in West St. Paul, Minnesota. We serve over 500 students from the local Twin Cities metro, around the country, and internationally (our global community includes 120 international students from 15 countries). We offer on-campus housing and full-time supervision for our long-distance students in a secure 152-bed lakeside dormitory. We are not a reform school and take great care in providing a safe and secure environment for our students.
SCLA is a Christian school with Christian teachers who share God’s love with students. Our mission is to educate the total student – spiritually, intellectually, and physically – in a caring, Christian family environment. Our caring teachers are highly educated and incentivized to continue their own education. About 60% of SCLA staff have earned a master’s degree or higher and take great care in preparing lessons to inspire learning and provide hands-on opportunities for real-world experience. SCLA administration continually supports teachers and sets high standards for curriculum development and assessment.
Every SCLA student matters, and we work with you to help your student discover his or her full potential. Our curriculum challenges students to explore a wide variety of interests as they discover their life’s purposes. With coursework from carpentry to chemistry, SCLA students make an impact in the world and graduate to become productive ministers, educators, scientists, artists, tradesmen and women, physicians, engineers, musicians, designers, and athletes.
SCLA students are taught to care for and encourage each other. We offer a safe space for students and continuous support, both academic and emotional, when hard times arise. As you will discover, our support extends beyond the classroom and crosses over into our many opportunities in athletics (MSHSL / Skyline Conference), student leadership, and club activities including men’s and women’s Bible study.
Our safe, park-like campus includes everything you would expect from a high-quality middle school and high school including one of the best tracks in the Twin Cities metro, a football and soccer stadium, full-size baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, multiple practice fields, a full gym, wrestling room, 350-seat auditorium, high quality art rooms, music rooms, wood shop, and training rooms.
